Once an inn for weary travelers, this establishment has regained its former glory as an authentic “estaminet” for all those who wish to quench their thirst or hunger while enjoying a piece of history older than Belgium. Under the eaves between two windows, Mother Spider born in 1762, watches over all our happiness. And if you listen carefully, you may be lucky enough to hear the gentle rustle of the little branch of the river Senne that flowed through here until the 19th century. Or was it perhaps the sighs coming out of the now-vanished 16th-century Carthusian monastery opposite?

Our story

Thomas
Years of inspiration through work, heritage, passion and a sense of culinary tradition brought Thomas here. The dream of a Brussels estaminet has finally become a reality. In ‘t Spinnekopke gives him the opportunity as a chef to give back to the people of Brussels with its traditional, local and honest cuisine.

Jonathan
Jonathan learned the tricks of the trade in just about every hospitality context: from a bartender in a local pub to head waiter for a refined kitchen. Thanks to this work experience, it was a no-brainer for Jonathan to join Spinnekopke as a co-partner. Jonathan will ensure a tip-top restaurant experience in this reborn Brussels estaminet.

Sven & Esther
This couple was born for the hospitality world. Soon serving, helping in the kitchen, placing orders, organising events etc. were no longer enough and the two of them decided to start their first business, Affligem Café Brussels. After five years it was time for a new challenge: In ‘t Spinnekopke. Together, the parents of two stepped into this next adventure, restoring an estaminet restaurant to its former glory and bringing it back to the neighbourhood. Together with co-partner Jonathan and chef Thomas, they are ready to let you experience an unforgettable time.
